How to make 3D Paper Snowflakes

This is a surprisingly simple craft that always seems to get so many lovely compliments at Christmas time. The best thing about it is that it can be made from every day items around the house...
All you need for this craft is:
  • 6 piece of A4 paper
  • Sellotape
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
Step 1. Fold the paper to form a triangle and cut off the excess. You should be left with a square piece of white paper. Repeat with the other 5 sheets.
Step 2. Fold the square diagonally in half to form a triangle. Then, repeat again to form a smaller triangle.
Step 3. Make 3 evenly spaced cuts across your triangle, making sure that you cut from the folded side (not the side that you can open). Cut nearly all the way across to the other side.
Step 4. Open your square up.
Take the two smallest triangles and tape them together. Be careful not to squash them.
Step 5. Turn your snowflake upside down. Now take the next smallest triangles and tape them together.
Step 6. Turn over again and tape the next biggest triangles. Repeat again for the biggest traingle.
You have now completed one section of your snowflake. You will need to repeat step 2-6 with the other 5 sheets of paper.
Step 7: Once you have done this, gather all pieces together and staple them at one end.
Step 8: To ensure that the sections spread out evenly, place small pieces of sellotape between each of the sections to join them up.
I hope that you managed to do this craft. It may sound a bit fiddly but once you get into the swing of things, you will discover how easy it is to do. Happy crafting!
