How To Make Wool Letters

I came up with this idea last night and couldn't wait to get started this morning. I knew I had the most perfect wool for the job and isn't it amazing?

I started by cutting my letter template from cardboard. You might like to make yours a bit neater than mine. I just drew mine freehand, as you might have noticed by now I have a bit of  a scrappy style. But whatever is best for you.
I started by securing the wool to the back of the template. I used good ole' sellotape for the job but hot glue would do just the same. And then just repetitively wrapped the wool around the template. This was quite therapeutic really.

If you are lucky enough to have the letter o, you can skip this step! Lucky you, but for the rest of us here is the tricky bit. The dreaded corners. If you have a K, W or M etc, then perseverance is the key. You can do it! I found that once I had reached the corner from one side, I then worked from the other. This seemed to stop the wool from slipping and was much more supportive.

So just keep going. Just keep going. What do we do? we just keep going! [you can probably guess what I am watching as I am doing this, gotta love nemo].. ahum, as I was saying keep going until you are all the way round the letter and then just re-secure! Hey Presto, you've done it.

Now just make yourself a little loop and hang it up. Next time, the plan is to use ribbon instead of wool. I will keep you posted on the result. :) Please leave a comment I would love to hear your thoughts.
